Hello! I'd like to start off with the apology, but I think it would be prudent to start off with the following first - This website is not affiliated with the dog club of the same name, the American Kennel Club (AKC), the Foundation Stock Services (FSS), or any other dog-related organizations.
Okay, now for the apology - If you're here looking for information regarding the dog breed or the club affiliated with the American Kennel Club, I'm afraid you're in the wrong place. This website, along with the affiliated discord server and email address, belong to the AKCoA guild - A guild formed for the XBox Live game Sea of Thieves. Really it's just a quick link to our discord server, but unless you're looking to sail the virtual high seas with us I guess that's not important.
You may have gotten this website from a business card that was handed out during a "Meet the breed" event. During that time this website was actually focused on the Australian Kelpie dog breed and not the aliens from Star Trek (so don't worry, you're not crazy!).
Since then there's been some kind of conflict within that club (I think) - since I was not a member I can't speak to that, I've only heard things from friends that were former members. However, since I was now stuck with a domain name that wasn't going to get any use, I decided it would be an easy way to get my pirate clan mates into a singular chat server.
I'm not opposed to giving the dog club the domain name, but no one has contacted me about it. On top of that, they tried to use a lawyer to bully my friend into giving them the domain (an odd move, since she doesn't own it), so I'm not exactly keen on reaching out to them either.
However, my friend cares about the breed and it's recognition by the AKC (or FSS, or whoever does... dog... recognitions...) and doesn't care who's at the helm when it comes to accomplishing that. So I'm typing this out in case things do smooth over and the website does become a dog-breed website again.
Once again I'd like to apologize. I had no idea there was so much interest in this breed of dogs. I've had a surprising amount of people reach out to ask questions (and I hope my friend has been helpful in answering them) that I don't want anyone to miss potential opportunities with this bright-eyed, beautiful breed.
